Three Bears Vacation

We've returned from our Foy Family Vacation! We had a wonderful time.

Pat, Paddy and I headed out Saturday afternoon after a mad dash to get our house ready for the mini-construction project we had being done in our absence. We arrived in time to meet Ed, Angela, Grace, and Rollie and venture to the pool.

Paddy LOVED the pool. L-O-V-E-D it. It was a zero depth pool and he crawled around like a crazy man. He was particularly fond of the little bubblers. Though I'm glad he's such a huge fan of the water, its a little concerning that he crawls around with no regard to the depth of the water :-)

We spent most of the days at the pool or the park splashing around and building sand castles (sort of).

Some of our favorite activities were heading down the water slides (also a big hit) and riding on the lazy river

Paddy loved spending time with his cousins. He enjoyed chasing Miss Grace around and was fascinated by Rollie. Papa spoiled him by wrestling with him everyday. Papa has less rules than Mom and Dad. He also enjoyed being able to spend time with his Aunts and Uncle. Aunt Angela treated Paddy to his first popsicle!

The excitement of the trip certainly did a number on the little man's sleep habits. He was having too much fun to go to sleep, and certainly let us know with the blood curdling screams everytime we so much as went near our bedroom.

We also got to enjoy some adult fun. We spent many nights out by the campfire (thanks Ranger Anne) playing cards and listening to Brewers games. I was introduced to Wisconsin's own Sheepshead. For you non Wisconsin folk, its sort of a Euchre, Hearts type game. The card shark known as Papa can count cards like no one I've ever met.

The best part of all the campfires was the S'mores. Grace was very kind and handed out a single marshmallow to everyone. She, however, was not a fan of the cooked marshmallows or chocolate. We're going to have to work on the chocolate issue.

It was a wonderful trip. It certainly made us realize how much we miss having family near by.
