Paddy has been busy learning cause and effect the last couple of weeks. Our favorite example came at lunch on Saturday. Our friends Greg and Dana were in town for Dave and Tiffany's wedding. We met for lunch Saturday afternoon at one of our favorite spots - Cafe Latte. Cafe Latte is set up a bit like a cafeteria, so everyone gets a tray.
While we were eating we had stacked the trays at the end of the table. Paddy was busy banging on them and realized he could pick one up and drop it. The first time he did this it made a loud noise which startled him a bit, so he tried again. After the 2nd try he realized each time he did this, there would be a loud noise. So on the third try, he lifted the tray, turned his head to the side and squinted his eyes shut in preparation for the loud noise, then dropped the tray. Satisfied he could ward off the loud noise, he repeated this process several times giving a big smile each time.
We all couldn't help but laugh.
