Freaking Cold

Its is exceptionally cold - which makes me angry. Its still FALL. Where are my golden leaves and 40s. Nope, its -9 with a windchill of -27. Seriously? That's not right. Especially when I have a one year old who hates to be inside all day. Its too cold to go outside.

He has been out a ton the last week though. He loves the snow, as long as its not in his face.

He had been playing happily and decided to stick his face in the snow. I'm not sure why. He was not thrilled with the result. It was like all those people who came to Notre Dame who had never seen snow. The first time they saw snow, they ran outside, and immediately proclaimed "Its cold!".

Just to show you he enjoys the snow
We also put our Christmas tree up recently. Much to Pat's chagrin, it's fake this year. We're going to be out of town too long to have a real tree. Pat and I put the tree and lights up while Paddy was sleeping. His reaction in the morning was awesome. He was thrilled. Paddy became even more thrilled when we gave him ornaments to hang on the tree. By hang, he jammed them on the branches and we had to occassionaly fix them. Every day since, he has come down in the morning and insisted on turning the lights on. He frequently talks to the tree and gently touches the branches and ornaments.
